Greetings! I own and live in my 3 bedroom house and rent out two of the rooms. I have one friendly, easy-going male moving into one room in July. He starts law school in the fall. We are looking for one more like-minded person to join us. We like living in a in a relaxing enviornment and my house is in a quiet neighborhood.
The room is 10' x 13' and looks out to a fairly large and seculded backyard. It has a queen sized bed, desk, office chair, chest of drawers, and storage chest. You would share my newly remodeled bathroom. I divide my time between home, travel, and visiting my son and his family in Washington for extended periods, usually from one to three months at a time. I cover wifi, water, and garbage. We would share PG&E three ways when I'm home and two ways when I am gone for a month or longer.
You will have full use of the kitchen including all of my cookware, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee maker, as well as the washer and dryer. The house has hardwood floors and new terracotta tiles in the kitchen and dining room. I have a hot tub in my backyard, which we can start if everyone agrees to have it on and doesn't mind higher PG&E bills. It's about $80/month to heat. It can also be used as a cooling pool in the hot summer instead!
I'm close to UCD; it's an easy 15-20 minute walk to campus or a 5-10 minute bike ride, and the bus stops around the corner. The Nugget and Food Coop grocery stores are also close by. There is street parking available, but no extra storage.
I'm a retired teacher with a 3 year old golden retriever. You must love dogs because there is no escaping her desire to greet you and bring you her favorite toy (an no, you only need to say hello, you don't need to dog sit) She's the ambassador of joy to the world!
I enjoy being in nature and love to whitewater raft, hike, kayak, camp and travel. I also love art, photography, reading, and downhill skiing. I care about the environment, and I am liberal in my politics. I'm quiet, respectful, and I don't do drugs or smoke.
The room is available anytime starting from July-September. Rent is $975/month with a $650 refundable deposit. Looking forward to meeting you!
