Cedar Creek is the only complex we gave a name. When we built the first building, the 911 address was not yet assigned and a R.R. Box number, just didn't work as well as our usual method of using the street addresses to denote the various locations. Cedar Creek is located on Jaros Lane, off Poplar Camp Road. Poplar Camp Road ends at the city owned beach on Cedar Lake. (less than a 2 minute drive.) The boat launch is located on Cedar Creek Road, about a 2 minute drive from the Cedar Creek places. It is less than a ten minute drive to the SIU campus, less than ten minutes to the shopping area around Schnucks, and less than a 15 minute drive to all the shopping in the Mall area. Cedar Creek complex is located in the Unity Point School District, a district sought after by many families. (It has pre K through eighth grade all in one school, making it really convenient for parents with more than one child in elementary school, as well as having an excellent academic reputation.) The tenants at Cedar Creek tend to be older - grad students, med and law students, blue and white collar families, and a few undergrads who want to be in the country, away from the hustle and bustle of the city - even a small city! The complex consists of 5 buildings on a little less than two acres, which gives plenty of space between the buildings and a large backyard area. The area is primarily rural in nature - lots of deer, bunnies, raccoons, songbirds, etc. 20 Jaros Lane is a two bedroom townhome duplex. 48 and 60 Jaros Lane are two bedroom triplexes - a typical two bedroom townhome duplex with a typical 2 bedroom flat located under the two townhome units.
