If you can hack it, individual leases are available at a slightly higher price. Apartments placed in the heart of campus are often accompanied by an array of amenities; however, expect to spend more money in rent if you want to roll out of bed and walk a block to class every day.

UIUC has a diverse, ambitious student body ready to take advantage of the opportunities that are there. Branded as a “Public Ivy” within the Big 10 conference, you will find this school has competitive academics and athletics. Take some time to check out the engineering departments – they are some of the best in the world. UIUC has nineteen Big 10, Div. 1 sports teams and around one hundred Greek fraternities and sororities. Varsity sports and Greek life are large parts of campus life, but you can easily find an alternative for your weekends from UIUC’s selection of over one thousand student-led clubs.

Head to downtown Champaign when you are trying to escape the UIUC bubble or looking for bars of Midwestern quality. Bars in Urbana are 18+ and in Champaign are 19+ for entry.
