If you’ve never lived off-campus before, you may not know when to start your search for UMich off-campus housing. Well, not to rush you - but the earlier the better. If you want to save as much money as possible, we’d recommend you live in a house or apartment in Ann Arbor with a couple of roommates. The more people there are to split the cost of utilities, groceries, and rent, the cheaper it’ll be for you. If you’ve done the whole roommate thing before and have decided you need a little more privacy or are tired of having people steal your ramen, you can definitely choose to live on your own - but that privacy is going to cost you a few hundred dollars every month than if you had a roommate.
