Things to do

Even though San Marcos spans roughly 6-miles in length, this city is rapidly growing and has tons of fun stuff for students to take part in! Like the majority of colleges across the nation, thousands of Texas State Bobcats can be seen sporting their burgundy and gold gear at all the home sports games, with football being the most popular.

Many activities revolve around the river, like laying out on Bikini Hill, paddle boarding, kayaking, or a favored pastime, tubing. When students go out, they head to The Square or go on a short, 30-minute road trip to Austin to attend cool events, concerts, and bar hop on 6th Street. Texas State University students also have easy access to not one but two outlet malls (the largest in the state)  to stay fresh all year long!
