Theatre and performing arts at Texas A&M University-Commerce are popular and concerts held throughout the year often draw in students and the community. Another cool spot to visit is the Planetarium on the TAMUC campus where you learn about our solar system.

Head off-campus and explore the town of Commerce! TAMUC students have easy access to nearly everything in town and can walk to most shops, restaurants, and bars and anything else. The city of Commerce holds several events throughout the year students can attend like Halloween on the Square and the Bois d’Arc Christmas Parade & Celebration-just to name a few! Commerce is full of beautiful parks, like City Park, where students can toss around a football or set up their hammock. Sand Hills Golf is a great spot to hit some balls or take a dip in the pool. Commerce is conveniently located just over 60 miles north of Dallas so if you have the means of transportation, take a weekend and get away to the city!

For TAMUC students that want to get involved with campus recreational and outdoor activities, we suggest checking out the Jerry. D Morris Recreation Center right on campus! Commerce students have access to the massive rec center, Cain Sports dome, Adventure Center, and more. Here, students can utilize the exercise equipment, participate in group or personal workout classes, swim in the pool, rock climb, utilize the many different sports courts from racquetball to tennis, Hammock Grove, and so much more! The University also offers students the Outdoor Adventure program where students can participate in numerous trips and daytime activities like the Challenge Course, disc golf, biking the TAMUC trail, or going on trips like a San Diego surf adventure or skiing in Colorado.
