Things To Do in Cortland, NY

Cortland students have free access to the massive Student Life Center. Here, students can utilize the exercise equipment, participate in workout classes, swim in the pool, rock climb, play on the many different sports courts, and so much more! The University also offers students the option of joining Outdoor Pursuits, where students organize trips and daytime activities like camping, kayaking, and hiking adventures.

If you want to catch some off-campus views, the Lime Hollow Nature Center is a great place to start and offers several trails for hiking. During the warmer months, students also like to travel to nearby Ithaca and go to the gorges for some cliff jumping!

Although Cortland may be a small city, the students here find plenty of ways to pass the time and have fun both on and off-campus! Students can participate in over 100 different clubs and organizations on campus. From dance to sports to becoming a member of the Greek community, there’s something for everyone. Cortland students love to show their pride at Red Dragon games, so make sure you attend one of the many sports events throughout the year and cheer them on!
