The Salisbury University Department of Recreation website is a great tool for students who want to get involved in campus recreational and outdoor activities. Students get free memberships to the University rec center, which features an aquatic center, fitness facility, several sports courts, a running track, and a rock climbing wall. There are also twenty different intramural sports teams like flag football, volleyball, and tennis that students can get involved in on campus. For each sport, there are men’s, women’s, and co-ed leagues for different skill levels.

Since the beach is located under 30 minutes away from campus, students often take trips to Ocean City to have some fun in the sun! Catching some waves or playing a few matches of beach volleyball are popular pastimes. Beyond that, students like to take advantage of the many area parks such as Schumaker Park, which is located right behind the Ward Museum. Here, you can catch beautiful views of Schumacher pond, go biking, and hiking.

Although Salisbury isn’t a huge city, there is still a ton to do! Besides the obvious college parties going on, students at Salisbury enjoy being involved in on-campus activities, like Greek life and intramural sports. Like most universities, attending sports games as a student is huge. Football, basketball, soccer, and baseball games always drum up a crowd!

In addition, SOAP, the campus student entertainment group, holds several movie screenings, comedy shows, and karaoke nights. Students can also participate in other activities like dances and bingo nights. Every year, Gullfest is also held where top name performers like Taylor Swift take the stage for all students to attend.

Around town, students can spend a day walking through the Salisbury Zoo or visiting Salisbury attractions like the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art or the Pemberton Historical Park.
