Typically students begin to search for apartments and houses once they arrive back from winter break in January. That's the early end. But the housing search season has started later and later over the past few years and more students aren't getting started until after they return from Spring Break in March.
So, if you're a hustler, get started in January. But most people won't get too busy until mid to late March.

The average rent in Norman has risen over the past four years as more luxury apartment complexes have arrived. These complexes can be as much as $700 per occupant for four bedroom units. That's the high end though. For houses, you'll typically be able to find three or four bedroom places for under $400 per person.

Campus Corner is a big hot spot for college students that attend the University of Oklahoma. O'Connell's Irish Push is a popular spot for college students and considered the hub of Campus Corner, but there are a variety of other bars and restaurants in the area that are packed every Friday and Saturday night.
Things To Do
Norman, Oklahoma is definitely a college town. Everything locally is about the Sooners. The football team has a long history of excellence, so you'll definitely want to check out a game at some point. Oklahoma's biggest rival is the Texas Longhorns and the rivalry week is always a highlight of the fall. Tailgate with your friends and enjoy the whole college sports scene.
