If you’re an NDSU student looking to live off-campus starting in the fall, you’re probably going to want to start your search for your new place during the prior spring semester. If you’re planning on living with two or more people, the earlier you can begin actively looking for housing, the better. Places with three or more bedrooms tend to fill up more quickly than studios, one bedrooms, and two bedrooms. Houses also follow this pattern, as they tend to be in greater demand than apartments. Being conscious of the leasing patterns for housing around the NDSU area and starting your hunt early in the spring semester can help ensure that you snag a great place to live.

Rent in Fargo, ND

Because of the campus’ close proximity to the state’s shared border with Minnesota, some off-campus housing options are technically in Minnesota! Try not to be scared off by the prospect of technically living in another state, the distance between these locations and campus is not as great as it sounds.

Rent prices tend to be a little more expensive the closer you get to campus, particularly for one-bedroom and studio apartments, but in many of these instances, utilities and amenities such as in-unit washing machines and dryers and parking are included. If you’re looking to spend a little less, consider living with a few friends in a duplex or house.
