Here students can relax by the fountain, hike, walk or bike the many trails, and even kayak the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers. Lastly, let’s not forget about the Pittsburgh Zoo! Duquesne University is located in the heart of Pittsburgh, so you can bet there’s always plenty of stuff to get into both on and off-campus! On campus, students get involved by joining one of the hundreds of clubs and organizations offered. Both Greek Life and becoming a Duquesne University Volunteer (DUV) to help both the campus and community are popular choices. When they’re not buried in a book at Gumberg, students also love hanging out on The Quad and engaging in campus events like intramural sports.
Students don’t have to travel far off-campus to enjoy what Pittsburgh has to offer! Just steps away are Market Square and the Strip District for great shopping, food, and sightseeing. A lot of students take advantage of proximity to the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers by going to games. When the weather is nice, tons of students walk downtown to Point State Park and relax near the fountain. Students also enjoy their days off by going to the Kennywood amusement park or Sandcastle, a popular water park. In addition, Pittsburgh is full of rich history, museums, Mount Washington, and the Pittsburgh Zoo!
