Here, they also hold events like First Friday where you can check out local art and browse the Augusta Market at the River every Saturday. If you’re a golf fan, then you already know Augusta is home to The Master’s tournament, and you too can set up a tee time at the Augusta National Golf Club. Some other points of interest include visiting the Morris Museum of Art (free on Sundays), biking the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, wildlife watching at the Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, or catching a show at the Imperial Theatre.

The Augusta University Wellness Center is a very popular spot for students to engage in several activities with one another. There are numerous intramural and club sports for AU students to get involved in from badminton to lacrosse and everything in between. At the Wellness Center, students also have access to the fitness facility equipped with cardio workout machines and free weights, basketball courts, indoor track, studios where you can participate in group workouts, and much more! 

Augusta is located near the Savannah River and several parks like Phiniziy, so AU students are no strangers to the outdoors. To escape the stresses of school and clear their heads, students head to the many parks for a breath of fresh air. AU students can also obtain Kayak and Georgia State Park passes for free on a first come first served basis! Kayaking, biking, or just walking the trails and setting up a hammock to relax are favored pastimes of students.
