Life at Rowan University

When they’re not attending class, students at Rowan University know how to relax and have a good time both on and off-campus. The Rowan student body has a lot of pride in their sports teams, and they know how to show it. Whether it’s a football, basketball, or whatever the season brings, you’ll always find a crowd cheering on the Owls at the big game. If you’re not into sports, feel free to join one of the hundreds of clubs, organizations and leadership programs to get involved and meet new people.

The university also hosts a number of events throughout the year that are free for students and a whole lot of fun. Among the most popular are the weekly events hosted by Rowan After Hours, and Hollybash, an end of the year celebration featuring carnival rides, games, and live music.

If you’re interested in exploring the area off-campus, Philadelphia and other surrounding attractions are just a short drive away. The University even offers a free shuttle to the city every Friday night, beginning at 6:30 pm at the Student Center. Whatever you’re into, there’s no such thing as boredom at Rowan University.

Things to Do in Glassboro, NJ

The area surrounding Rowan University has plenty of places to explore for those in need of a little fresh air. The Washington Lake Park in neighboring Sewell is just a short drive away and offers 330 acres of trails, athletic fields, open water and plenty of greenspace. They even have an outdoor amphitheater that’s used for outdoor movies and concert series when the weather is nice.

If you love the outdoors and you’re looking to get involved, why not kill two birds with one stone and join the Rowan University Outdoors Club. The club specializes in camping, hiking, kayaking and more, and hosts plenty of trips throughout the year for students looking to explore the area.
