Life at Oklahoma State University

There are plenty of things to do in Stillwater when you’re not busy writing terms papers or cramming for tests. Students at Oklahoma State University take pride in their sports teams, and cheering on the Cowboys at a weekend football game is a favorite pastime on campus. If you’re looking for ways to get involved and meet new people, there are over 500 clubs and organizations to choose from, including Greek Life and various intermural sports.

Make sure to participate in some of the events held on campus each year, like Lights On Stillwater. Located outside of Boone Pickens Stadium, the annual event is sponsored by the OSU Student Government and features live music, food and plenty of local vendors.

When you feel like heading off-campus for a night out, students can conveniently walk to The Strip, a popular area just south of campus. This street is filled with a combination of quirky shops, restaurants, bars and other fun activities for students to get into. Additionally, the city of Stillwater has a handful of unique places to explore, like the National Wrestling Hall of Fame

Things To Do in Stillwater, OK

Stillwater, OK is home to a number of outdoor attractions for students to enjoy a little fresh air off-campus. Boomer Lake Park is just a short drive away and offers a variety of walking trails, an 18-hole disc golf course and plenty of picnic and fishing areas to destress and take in the sights. You can also take advantage of available paddleboard and kayak rentals if you enjoy being out on the water.

If you’re interested in meeting other like-minded outdoor enthusiasts, the University has an Outdoor Adventure club that will be right up your alley. They offer a variety of trips, educational opportunities and even a challenge course at Camp Redlands—all focused on the outdoors, of course!
