Things To Do in Tempe, AZ

The city of Tempe offers ASU students a wide range of things to do both on and off-campus. From rushing a sorority or fraternity to tap dance or lacrosse, there are hundreds of on-campus clubs for students to join. Take part in cheering on the Sun Devils, at one of the many sporting events like favored football and basketball! Grab your maroon and gold gear, get your friends together, and hit up Camp Fargo before the big game! There are tons of things to do on campus like attending one of the various events held by the University, head to the Memorial Union to use the bowling alley and other games, chill on one of the campus quads, or catch concerts and plays at the Nelson Fine Arts Center.

Tempe is a lively city with a lot going on all year long! Throughout the year the city hosts many events, festivals, and concerts, and students often head to Tempe Town for those. Tempe is warm year-round, so take advantage of the great weather and do something outside! Beyond all the pool parties that are constantly being thrown, there are many parks and mountains surrounding the city where students can go kayaking, hiking, biking, and more at places like Camelback and Squaw Peak. Make sure you make the trek up A Mountain, which is located right next to campus. If you’re looking to shop, grab a bite to eat, or out for a few pitchers to drink with friends, then you’ll want to head to Mill Avenue. This popular street is home to some of ASU students’ more favored spots and is guaranteed to be bustling every Thursday-Saturday.

Outdoors and Recreation at Arizona State

Arizona State University offers tons of recreational opportunities for students. The Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness Center on campus includes a full gym, basketball courts, an aquatics center, a racquetball court, and much more. If you’re looking to learn a new sport or stay active, try joining one of the many intramural sports, such as Ultimate Frisbee, flag football, water volleyball, or dodgeball, just to name a few. ASU students can also partake in Adventure Trips and join fellow students on trips like biking, kayaking, hiking, and more!
