As previously mentioned, the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, located at the nearby University of Michigan, is totally worth the short trip! The conservatory is over 10,000 square feet and is open year round. During the warmer months, you can walk through the many gardens and down the trails.

Things To Do in Ypsilanti, MI

EMU students living in Ypsi have numerous activities to get involved in both on and off-campus! It probably comes as no surprise that both playing and attending sports game is super popular. For every home sports game, you’ll see EMU students decked out in their white and green gear on the sidelines cheering for their favorite Eagle’s team! Getting involved in one of the hundreds of clubs from poetry to Greek Life is also important to students. Throughout the week you can also catch them singing karaoke on Wednesday nights or watching a movie on Friday nights on-campus.

Around town, there are tons of things to check out! From the Matthaei Botanical Gardens to the Yankee Air Museum to the Rolling Hills Water Park there’s always something for EMU students to get into to pass the day. The EMU campus is also about seven miles away from the college town of Ann Arbor so students also like to venture there to go out and attend Michigan sports games.
